Cruiser RV adds new facility

Lightweight travel trailer manufacturer Cruiser RV has announced plans to add a new factory in nearby LaGrange, Indiana.

The manufacturer, best known for their Fun Finder line-up of trailers, is investing $850,000 in a brand new facility. The plan is to more than double the number of jobs at the company by 2014, reports the Muncie Free Press.

The company is currently based in Howe, which is located near the RV Capital of Elkhart. LaGrange is just a few miles east of Howe.

"We simply were busting at the seams in our current Howe, Indiana, facility and faced making a big decision," said Jeff Fought, president of Cruiser RV. "We've been a single plant organization since our inception, but we feel this is the logical next step for us. The LaGrange plant will give us the needed flexibility to expand our current product offering, while reducing our lead time during the peak selling season and improving overall product quality.

Governor Mitch Daniels praised the expansion plans for Cruiser and said that the RV industry and other innovative companies will always be welcome in Indiana.
