  • Working from the basics of the USDA Food Guideline and the new “ChooseMyPlate”
  • We need to eat more fruit and vegetables – both fresh and frozen are great sources. Half your plate should include fruit and vegetables.
  • We need dairy for calcium, vitamin D and many other nutrients.
  • Whole Grains should be used whenever possible.
  • Protein from both animal (meat, poultry, seafood and eggs) and plant sources (beans, peas, nuts and soy).
