The Eyes Have It

• What kind of equipment will I need?
• Long lens – 300–600 mm
• Close up lens for bugs, plants, etc.
• Tips
• Focus on Eyes – if the eyes are not in focus, it is a bad picture.
• Use a monopod or tripod whenever possible
• Use mirror lockup for extremely long shots if there is time.
• Bracket your shots since you won’t get a second chance to shoot most animals.
• Be Patient – they move at their own pace, not yours.
• Birds often require a fast suhtter speed. They move quickly. In flight they are difficult to stop without blur.
• Your lens choice depends on your sensor size.
