How to save money while RVing: Finding discounts and deals ahead of time

Many studies have shown RV travel is far more cost effective than other forms of vacationing, and there are ways to cut down on expenses even further. One of the best ways to save is to research discounts and special offers available at your RV destinations.

Coupons and deals online

When you're RV trip planning and choosing roadside attractions you simply cannot miss, you may want to do a quick search online for coupons and other discounts. Groupon.com is a great resource for deals across the country. You can search by location and the results may turn up coupons for events, restaurants and attractions you may not have even known about.

National park passes

If you are an AARP member, you may be eligible for a number of different opportunities. The organization offers annual "America the Beautiful" National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Passes that cover entrance fees to all lands managed by the government. One pass will cover the holder and three adult passengers in a vehicle. Kids under 16 are free and the pass only costs $10. You can buy the pass ahead of time or purchase it in person at the park. If you don't belong to AARP, this pass can be purchased for $80.
