  • What is good hyper and what is concerning hyper?
  • Dogs are active animals. They are social by nature, used to having to work quite a bit for their living and are very intelligent.
    • Border collie vs basset hound vs greyhound vs terrier.
    • Some dogs develop problems because they are unemployed.
  • Pets develop almost OCD like actions, become destructive or needy.
  • May see fidgety, restlss, drooling or panting, chew bald spots, become destructive.
  • Be sure to provide adequate play time and interaction.
  • If your pet’s “hyperness” is becoming an issue, don’t just put up with it, call your veterinarian and make sure there isn’t a problem such as anxiety related issues.

Often hear owners comment that their pets are hyper, or see it in the exam rooms. Can be an issue in the RV, too.

What is good hyper and what is concerning hyper?

Dogs are active animals. They are social by nature, used to having to work quite a bit for their living and are very intelligent.

Some pets, depending on what they were originally bred for, can have a higher energy level than others.

Border collie vs basset hound vs greyhound vs terrier.

Some dogs develop problems because they are unemployed.

Many dogs are asked to be home during the day by themselves, then relax and cuddle next to us in the evenings and sleep through the night.

They are bored and need to have a mental and physical outlet.

Can develop almost OCD like actions, become destructive or needy.

May see fidgety, restless, drooling or panting, chew bald spots, become destructive.

Be sure to provide adequate play time and interaction.

Walks, paying in the backyard, puzzle feeders, puzzle toys.

If your pet’s “hyperness” is becoming an issue, don’t just put up with it, call your veterinarian and make sure there isn’t a problem such as anxiety related issues.
