Summer time: Spend as much time enjoying it as you can! The girls feature two delicious summer recipes from their cookbook, Slow Cookin’ Companion: Baby Back Ribs and Black and Blue Cobbler.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Summer Crockin’

  • The girls cook up some great summer time recipes! Baby Back Ribs and Black and Blue Cobbler!
  • My Crock O’ Ribs submitted by Maggie Cerro (pg. 308) from Slow Cookin’ Companion
  • Ingredients:
  • 3-5 lbs. baby back ribs, cut to fit in the slow cooker
  • Chop 1-2 large onions
  • 2 c. sliced mushroom, optional
  • 1 jar regular barbecue sauce
  • 2-4 T. chopped garlic
  • 3/4-1 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. red wine, optional. Remember, the alcohol does cook out.
  • Black and Blue Cobbler pg. 364 Directions
  • Ingredients:
  • 1 Cup of All-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 Cups of Sugar, divided
  • 1 Teaspoon of Baking powder
  • 1/4 Teaspoon of Salt
  • 1/4 Teaspoon of Ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 Teaspoon of Nutmeg
  • 2 Eggs, beaten
  • 2 Tablespoons of Milk
  • 2 Tablespoons of Vegetable oil
  • 2 Cups of Fresh or frozen blackberries
  • 2 Cups of Fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 3/4 Cup of Water
  • 1 Teaspoon of Grated orange peel
