Taking a page from the upscale African safari trade, U.S. and Canadian outfitters that specialize in high-end camping provide spacious tents outfitted with queen-sized beds, comfortable sofas and even flush toilets and claw-footed private baths. Daily maid service and chef-prepared gourmet meals offer campers all the luxuries of a hotel vacation in seemingly untamed wilderness settings.

However, high end luxury RVs are raising the bar and approaching all of the amenities of glamping and more. Vacationing with many of the comforts of home has long been one of the major attractions of RV travel, but a new breed of RVs is taking camping to a new level.

Typical luxury RV amenities can include:

Gourmet kitchens with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops;
Spacious bathrooms with double sinks and full-size showers;
Master bedrooms that can accommodate a king-size bed and offer walk-in closets, some cedar-lined;
Full sized flat-screen TVs, sophisticated home-theater systems and electronic docking stations;
Leather couches and recliners; and much more.

Leading the luxury RV lineup are spacious motorhomes such as this Fleetwood Discovery model, which offers myriad standard amenities and a hefty catalog of ultra-deluxe options.

At $200,000, Discovery’s base model, which is equipped with polished tile floors, one and a half baths and washer/dryer hookups, might seem pricey; but online sales of used luxury RVs put glamping into a more reasonable budget range.

A Journalist Takes Up the RV Lifestyle

NBC-TV News and Family Motor Coach Association Road Reporter Mike Wendland‘s show Roadtreking is now available on RVNN.TV, and more importantly available on the RVNN.TV Roku channel !

We are very excited to have Mike on board – to bring people his unique view of Class-B RVing in his RoadTrek e-Series, along with wife Jennifer and canine companion as they explore from their home in Troy Michigan  - all roads and all seasons!
